WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?
Telehealth is the ability to remotely participate in healthcare services via synchronous video. Although, we have always offered telehealth, this service is more in demand now, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Telehealth is a great way to adhere to social distancing recommendations. It is also a preferred method for those with specific phobias, physical or medical restrictions, in rural areas, long commutes or, simply those with a busy schedule!
Telehealth is primarily associated with traditional, or talk therapy however, tele-play therapy is also an available service.
Like outpatient sessions in the playroom, the sessions will be structured to best meet individual needs and can include parent participation. This service is covered by most insurance plans, just as a trip to the playroom would be. Sessions are conducted through a HIPPA compliant platform to maintain your privacy, just as an in-person session would. If you have additional questions about what telehealth sessions would look like for you, or your child, please give us a call.
